What is a Guiding Star?

…a luminary
…an individual who advises and inspires others
… a Girl Guide leader who nurtures girls into greatness

A Guiding Star is all of these things and so much more. To celebrate National Volunteer Week (April 10 –16) and all of the amazing women in Guiding, Girl Guides of Canada (GGC) has developed a new ad campaign showcasing the volunteers that make Guiding possible. Our Guiding Stars public service announcement features real women who Guide our girls into greatness: Sheryl Johnson, Liane Paixao, Angela David and Kristyn Simmons.

This year, over 18,000 Canadian women are currently making a difference in the lives of over 70,000 girls in Guiding. THANK YOU to all of the volunteers that have made an impact in the work of Girl Guides over the last 100 years!

This week, we will be talking to the women who are featured in our Guiding Stars campaign. Stay tuned for more…
